The Secret Mountain Experience

A restaurant on a hilltop, reached on foot or by a steep road, with a 180° view over the jungle and the Gulf of Thailand. The journey up is a real part of it.

Whether you hike through jungle trails, brave the steep mountain road, or arrive via a taxi— the moment you reach the top and the whole coastline opens up, the climb makes sense.

Three Ways to Reach Secret Mountain

The Hike

Duration: 20-25 minutes

Difficulty: Moderate

Cost: Free

The jungle trail winds through lush tropical forest. Moderate incline, good shoes recommended. Build your appetite while surrounded by island nature. The most rewarding way to arrive, if you have the shoes for it.

Pro tip: start the walk about an hour before sunset so you arrive with time to settle in.

The Road

Duration: 10 minutes from Baan Tai

Difficulty: A short, steep climb

Vehicle: Any scooter or car

A short climb through the jungle with the view opening up through the trees. Take it steady and it is an easy, memorable ride. Free parking at the top.

Pro tip: take the descent steadily — the view is distracting.

Taxi

Duration: 15 minutes

Difficulty: Easy

Cost: Message us to arrange

Island taxis all know us and will bring you to the door. Message us on WhatsApp and we will arrange one for you — the easy option if you would rather not ride.

Pro tip: book a taxi in advance, especially in high season.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get to Secret Mountain?

You can hike (20-25 minutes), drive/ride a scooter (steep road, 10 minutes), or take a taxi. Each option offers a unique adventure.

Is there parking?

Yes, we have parking available at the venue for those who drive or ride scooters up the mountain.

Can I hike there?

Absolutely! The hike is one of the best parts. It's moderate difficulty, about 20-25 minutes through beautiful jungle. Wear proper shoes and bring water.

Do I need a reservation?

Reservations are recommended for the sunset window (17:00-18:30) and at weekends. Walk-ins are welcome earlier in the afternoon when space allows.

Is it suitable for families?

Secret Mountain is an adults-only venue for guests aged 21 and over. We say so clearly so nobody makes the journey up with children and has to be turned away.

What makes Secret Mountain different from other viewpoints?

We combine three things that rarely appear together on this island: 180° panoramic ocean views, chef-driven cooking that is mostly plant-based, with wild-caught seafood, and an adults-only setting that stays quiet. The journey up — on foot or by scooter — is part of it.

Truly an incredible place, not to be missed! Their new menu is delicious and their cocktails are really good! The servers are so friendly; they even lent us a Uno game when they saw us playing with dice! The service was super fast, and what can I say about the view? 😍

The restaurant is located up on the mountain, and the view overlooking the island is absolutely stunning — especially during sunset. The atmosphere there is super relaxing and unique… I had a beer and ordered the fried zucchini, which was really tasty. The service was also great, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The pool was closed, probably because of the rain, but it still looked amazing.
