The climb up

The last stretch is a proper little climb through the jungle — part of what makes arriving feel like finding something. Plenty of guests ride up two-up on a standard scooter; take it steady, and after heavy rain give the road a moment to drain.

We look after the road and there is lighting along the way. If you would rather not ride, a taxi will take you to the door and the drivers all know us. Message us and we will arrange it.

Journey times

Ban Tai8 min

The shortest run. Turn inland off the coast road and follow the hill up.

Thong Sala9 min

East on the Ban Tai road, then inland at the Phu Mai Ngam junction.

Srithanu15 min

South along the west coast, then inland — an easy, scenic run.

Chaloklum15 min

Straight down through the middle of the island.

Haad Rin20 min

North-west along the coast through Ban Tai, then up.

By scooter, in daylight. Allow a little longer after dark.

Is the road difficult?

It is a short, steep climb — a small adventure rather than an ordeal. Most guests ride it without trouble; take it steady after rain, or let a taxi bring you up.

Can I get a taxi?

Yes — island taxis know us. Agree the fare before you set off, and book your return in advance, since it is quiet up here later in the evening.

Is there parking?

Yes, free parking at the top for both scooters and cars.
